Muslim Legal Fund of America is a charity that funds legal work and programs to defend Muslims against injustice in American courtrooms, prisons, and communities. This year, we embarked on our boldest move in the 14 years since establishing the fund. MLFA has launched the Constitutional Law Center for Muslims in America (CLCMA), which is a nonprofit law center dedicated to representing Muslims faced with potential violations of their constitutional rights. This will change how we approach legal challenges by enabling us to solve problems rather than just the symptoms.The Constitutional Law Center for Muslims in America, Inc., is a nonprofit law center dedicated to defending the civil liberties and legal rights of Muslims in American courtrooms and litigating issues that are important to the Muslim community.The Constitutional Law Center for Muslims in America (CLCMA) provides representation for individuals and organizations facing federal criminal prosecution, immigration removal proceedings, or who have been denied their Constitutional rights by the Federal Government, when there is reason to believe that the action was based at least in part on the religious beliefs or the country of origin of the individual or organization. CLCMA is also dedicated to preventing future prosecutions of charitable organizations and/or mosques stemming from zakat provided to the neediest in the community. To that end, CLCMA provides confidential legal advice to any mosque, organization, or individual who desires to provide support to persons outside the United States regarding the legality of that support. CLCMA also provides advice and assistance to any person or organization that has been approached by the FBI or other Federal law enforcement for questioning.FinancialsCLCMA is 100% funded by a generous grant from the Muslim Legal Fund of America.
