I've recently started volunteering in Dogtown, where I provide stimulation and human interaction for any level 1 dog. They are taken for walks, fed, and showed to any potential adopters. There is plenty of kitchen and laundry duties as well. On shift, I am able to promote the qualities of each dog that I have interacted with to any visitors interested.

As cashier, I have successfully operated a cash register, took responsibility for high priced items behind the register and in display cases, and addressed customer needs as they entered and exited the store.As a stocker, I have unloaded weekly truck arrivals, stocked products in their appropriate locations. organized merchandise in every area of the store, excluding furniture, and set up displays throughout the store as new stock arrived.

I have worked with the cats and kittens replenishing their food, water, and litter. During my interaction with them, I have reported any potential ailments of the cats (diarrhea, vomit, depression, aggressive behavior, etc.) to the medical staff. After each shift, my responsibilities extended to sweeping and mopping all cat rooms, as well as the common walking area connecting them.

I've had the opportunity to work almost every category in dining services at the U of I. Much of my experience comes from refilling the hot and cold food bars, tending to beverage stations, checking student IDs, cleaning tables, preparing individual food items (pizzas, hamburgers, smoothies, personalized coffees, etc.). I've also worked in the catering department: serving for events, setting/clearing tables, and gathering needed equipment.

As student supervisor, I was responsible for all student workers on my shift. This extended to keeping track of their paperwork (no shows, warnings, late comers, excellent workers, etc.) and ensuring each student performed his/her job for a smooth operation of each shift.

I have answered questions and inquiries from guests concerning the park layout and presented information about various animals to the nearby visitors.
