Lagardere operates over 700 food service outlets across 60 airports and 100 railway stations.As sole Legal Counsel my role included:• Development and management of the legal function for SumoSalad Group.• Advising on corporate governance, joint ventures and partnerships, industry compliance and competition and consumer law.• Managing and building relations between the company, external advisers, shareholders, franchisees, JV partners, landlords, regulators and suppliers.• Strategic advice in connection with competition law compliance, supply chain management, new franchise concept development, growth with joint venture arrangements, intellectual property and network growth.• Oversight and management of litigation matters outsourced to external lawyers or insurers lawyers.• Introduction of new franchise contracts, supplier agreements, internal policies and negotiating terms.• Development of procedures adopted by the business development and finance functions in connection with franchisee recruitment and collection of franchise fees.• Managing global expansion including USA, Brazil and South Africa and building relations with local counsel in existing and new markets.
