Lead the design and implementation of two new product category offerings, the mostimpactful being Earned Wage Access which allowed hourly employees to access accrued wages before payday.Revamped entity deduplication to use in memory computation and caching resulting in a 87% reduction in associated database queries and 76% reduction in associated latency. This significantly improved platform performance and scalability.

- Service owner for the Trip and Driver Core State Machines which power Uber's Ride sharing and Eats along with other mission critical Dispatch services.- Greenfield Marketplace Dispatch Platform Re-architecture to power Uber's next generation of innovation and bring it one step closer to becoming the AWS of Logistics.- Tech lead on Loyalty integration with Marketplace Dispatch Platform allowing Uber to be first to market with a Loyalty program.My primary responsibility is to ensure 4 9s Availability and Reliability to back up Uber's original mission of making transportation as reliable as running water. The challenges here all stem from complex, nuanced, infuriatingly interesting Distributed Systems problems particularly when dealing with shared nothing microservices which trade Consistency for Availability.My secondary responsibility is to ensure that the Dispatch Platform provides the right Abstractions and suitable Extension patterns to allow Product and Feature Teams to innovate with high developer velocity. Challenges here stem from the fact that the existing platform, while good, has not traditionally provided the right fault tolerance and so as a service owners, there is always a high influx of Diffs/PRs which need to be meticulously reviewed. Any lapse during the review process surely bites back in Production which is never fun. We are taking all of our learnings and feeding them into the Design and Architecture of the next generation Marketplace Fulfillment Platform which will power all existing verticals and several new ones with Clean Abstractions and Extension patterns and with first class support.My tertiary responsibility is to help and improve the non-tech aspects of the company where ever I see an opportunity. When I first joined, there was no one actively organizing team bonding activities to provide our super hard working engineers with an opportunity to unplug and discover mutual interests.
