    Under the supervision of A/Prof. Michelle Tate and PhD student Sarah Rosli of the Viral Immunity and Immunopathology research group, I conduct various laboratory experiments - both under strict supervision and independently - to analyse biological samples from a mouse study about cell pyroptosis in human bronchial epithelial cells (HBECs) in Influenza A infection. I am familiar with techniques including protein extraction from HBECs, cell culture and infection, and Western blotting - and am capable of performing these experiments independently but also collaboratively with other researchers in the lab group. By the end of the placement, I completed a report summarising what I have learned from the research project and received commendation from my supervisors my eagerness to learn.
