I have been actively day trading in the international stock market initially and later in the international commodity market.

Associated with two IT firms in Dubai as an independent IT consultant. Having worked with a number of clients on issues such as IT management, recruitment, service delivery, centralize backups, data communication channels, helpdesk setup and also specifically advising on the benefits of colocation and managed services.

Participated, as a regional leader, in a US$ 2Billion strategic global business spinoff project! Worked with internal resources and a team from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Contributed to the Project Charter, Contracts Negotiations and Transitional Service Agreements, “data carve-out” and Heat Map exercises. Led the conceptual design of the future IT services setup for the spinoff company in a fully managed service environment utilizing Cloud and Colocation services. Participated in exercises to relocate SAP Unicode environment from Calgary, Canada to the future data hub in Dubai, UAE.

Provided executive leadership as head of the regional IT team. Responsible for all aspects of the regional strategic IT planning, implementation and operations support, extending the same to the worldwide operations as required. Responsible for IT operations in 25 countries with some 180 operating offices, 60+ Onshore Oil Rigs, and over 14,000 network users. Managed this extensive IT operation with a 53 employees spread across the region. Consistently improved performance, shaping IT to become a strategic partner to the business. Full responsibility for over US$7 million annual budget for support technology services and large scale projects.

Successive career progression in increasing roles of responsibility to manage the overall Eastern Hemisphere network across Europe, Middle East and South East Asia from the London office. Managed, directly and indirectly, 20 personnel (Network Managers, Programmers, Programmer Analysts and others) for the on-going maintenance, development and implementation of various projects. Participated in multiple company acquisition projects.

Responsible for the overall management of Novell network for various entities and applications support across the UAE. Developed a financial application and traveled and implemented across Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Norway and the UK; Upon acquiring Enterra, Weatherford continued to use this application until the year 2007.
