I'm a CPA and have 11 years of experience in Credit Union accounting and most of that time is as a leader over Accounting and then transitioning to a leader over Accounting and Finance. Some of my favorite tasks are process improvement which might include building spreadsheets, using power query and power bi, or simply just analyzing a process and making it as efficient as possible. I also am skilled at learning new systems, understanding how they work and how to best utilize them. From an Accounting perspective, I appreciate a good balancing issue, tracking down the missing pieces and making it all balance. With my time at the credit union, I manage our cash and borrowings, complete reconciliations of all types of accounts, review reconciliations for approval, lead the annual budget process, manage our quarterly ALM review, system implementations, handling gathering data and communicating with auditors, lead our internal ALM committee meetings, lead the month-end close and review process, manage the escheat process, compile and now reviewing the call report, and filing our tax returns.
