Pursuing a PhD. in Oceanography at Université Laval, QC addressing ecological factors underlying food sustainability in Inuit Communities of Nunavik. This project attempts to bring together science and indigenous knowledge in order to understand the changing relationship between society and the marine environment in a frontier region to climate change. My PhD. addresses the interaction between sea-ice and species as tiny as blue mussels in the Arctic. Using my Master's Degree in Computer Science, I am building creative technological solutions to these human-ecologic problems through drone-mapping, 3D modelling and SAR C-Band satellite data; applying modern tech to field terrain. This builds upon my prior experience working with indigenous groups like the Ladakhis of the Tibetan Plateau and the Makkahs of the Pacific Northwest, USA. I'm also a CAUSS Scientific Diver and PADI Divemaster, currently engaged in SCUBA diving expeditions in the Arctic and the sub-Arctic addressing the discovery and mapping of kelp and marine invertebrates.
