Consular Assistant
Current• Emergency Citizen Services, Protection, and Welfare.• Correspondence and Outreach• Providing consular assistance in accordance with current guidelines and responding to general correspondence.• Building relationships with consular counterparts and relevant public authorities• Updating of the consular assistance database, in consultation with diplomatic staff• Deliver a high level of customer service, including handling, enquires from members of the public and inmates while being confident in delivering difficult messages/managing expectations.• Maintaining case files on the corporate database and managing them to a satisfactory conclusion;• Liaising with US authorities, members of the public and their legal representatives, airlines and tour operators, and British Government Departments in order to achieve strategic goals and keep contacts database up to date.• Keeping the Vice-Consul informed of developments in cases;• Maintaining close links with local authorities including, but not limited to, law enforcement, correctional facilities, medical examiners, hospitals, morgues and mental health facilities.• Perform other duties as assigned
