Experienced Conservation manager with a demonstrated history of working in wildlife conservation. I received my master’s degree in ecology from Ilia State University and have more than seven years of experience in the field of wildlife conservation. After graduating I worked as a research scientist at Tbilisi Zoo and worked on various projects, from the species action plan to rehabilitation programs. In 2014, I visited Durrell Conservation Academy as a student. In the last two years, as a conservation research manager at Society for Nature Conservation, I participated in more than five projects related to nature conservation. At the same time, I established a non-governmental (NGO) conservation organization directly focused on biodiversity research and conservation. During the first research studies, we were able to prove the distribution of west Caucasian mountain tur in a previously unknown area.For my yearlong Humphrey Fellowship at the University of California, Davis, my major area of interest was wildlife conservation. I focused on ways to improve my knowledge about climate change and how it affects biodiversity as well as local communities, also I improved my management skills for large environmental projects and observed NGO participation in U.S. state policymaking. At the same time, I was the spokesperson at the Global leadership forum in Washington D.C., and talked from a small-country perspective, about how climate change is affecting and addressed in Georgia. In addition, I’ve worked for the UC Davis Arboretum and public garden, where I was conducting research about wildlife distribution in the landscape restoration area while giving lectures to undergraduate students about field survey methods. Right now, after my almost two years of study, I am open to actively working in conservation again.
