One way to describe my Technical Program Management role at Microsoft was fast-paced, challenging, and quite fulfilling. I started during at time where Microsoft was developing their new cloud strategy. I joined the Microsoft Global Foundations Services (new Azure Networking) and partnered with various teams and product areas to select, design, and build data centers and networking footprints across the globe. Navigating across multiple layers of networking requires an agile approach to business demands and extreme attention to detail. I spend most of my time planning, collaborating, communicating, presenting, and managing stakeholder expectations both horizontally and vertically across many divisions and teams within Microsoft. In sum I copiously managed the triple constraint (schedule/cost/scope) in a very complex environment. I was very fortunate to be apart of Microsoft during a transformational time and have made tremendous contributions to the Microsoft Cloud infrastructure. Positions Held:1. As Sales Engineer, I provided pre-Sales technical solutions for company products and services across markets. I provided technical responses to RFIs and RFPs, met with clients to discuss networking needs, worked with vendors to provide technical sales support collateral and provided design input to aid in the development of a technical solution. I also obtained costs packages (internal and external) from carriers/providers/vendors for submission to business operations, obtained necessary approvals from internal groups to support non-standard and provided technical descriptions and drawings for bids (as required). This role allowed me to develop and present technical reviews to clients (Visio, PowerPoint, or equivalent applications). I assisted Sales Account representatives in closing new business opportunities by gaining a thorough technical and business understanding of clients' needs, then qualifying, identifying, and closing new opportunitiesCompliance with departmental and corporate internal controls/processes.*1 week after joining, Zayo acquired Abovenet. I responded quickly and landed a role at Microsoft as Program Manager, New Data Center Builds

In my Implementation Mgr. role, I worked very closely with the Director of Network Planning and Manager of IP Operations on all global network infrastructure projects (i.e. Colocation/Data Center Deployments, Network Migrations, Network Upgrades & Management, Network Reconciliations, Peering Connectivity, and overall Network Infrastructure Management). Executed service contracts, managed vendor delivery, network plans, network designs, review & approval of circuit and design layouts, ordering of xconnects, stakeholder management and supporting network infrastructure availability, viability and health.

As an Outside Plant Project Manager at Abovenet, my responsibilities were the planning and implementation of fiber connectivity solutions programs and projects that adhered to approved plans, budgets and schedules. This included site walks to identify fiber routes into the customer prem, working with Engineering firms to AutoCAD Engineering plans, working with the Bureau of Engineering, Dept of Transportation, and other local jurisdictions to secure permits to construct. I also was in charge of the RFPs/RFQs and the selection of contracting companies who would perform the excavation and fiber splicing work which included contract negotiation and contract management. Preparing lease duct packages to the RBOC for innerduct possibilities, conducting project meetings with customers, engineering firms, contractors and city jurisdictions regarding project deliverables.In addition, I was responsible for the procurement and deployment of fiber equipment to the site and to our external contractors (i.e. Splice enclosures, FDPs, Gbic Cards etc)

As an Implementation Mgr on the Service Delivery team, delivery bandwidth to meet customer needs was the main deliverables. I managed and provisioned services (ie Local Loops, dark & lit Fiber, Ethernet, ATM, SONET, xconnects etc) for our CDN, Managed Hosting, IP and Data Center customers. Provisioning and implementation of bandwidth & connectivity required close interaction with IXCs/LECs/CLECs across the globe which to design, deliver & test bandwidth and end to end connectivity. In addition to ensuring bandwidth delivery on time and within scope, I partnered with our Sales, Operations & Engineering teams to design and deliver solutions and provide pre & post deal support to the technical sales team.
