About Kuk-Hyun Han
Dr. Han is the head of R&D Center and the president of Samyoung, and is focusing on innovating manufacturing process technology by combining 3D printing. In particular, he has developed a hybrid process solution incorporating sand 3D printing technology into the metal casting process in order to advance root technology, and is actively applying it to mass production of key engine parts of Samyoung. He also succeeded in launching 3D printers optimized for manufacturing industry sites by developing its own binder jetting sand 3D printer and binder system. He has been a principal engineer at Samsung Electronics, a visiting scientist at MIT Media Lab, and a director at Samsung UX Center America & Think Tank Team. He won the Minister Award from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy in recognition of his contribution to the commercialization of 3D printing technology and the Minister Award from the Ministry of Science and ICT in recognition of his contribution to the advancement of 3D printing industry in 2019 and 2021 respectively, and won the Prime Minister Award for being the number one organization in the National Root Technology Competition and the Minister Award at the 3D Printing Innovation Challenge Competition from the Ministry of Science and ICT in 2020. He has served as a director of the National Research Council of Science and Technology for the past 3 years and serves as a director of the Korea Foundry Society. Recently, Samyoung has been selected as one of the 100 Hidden Champions in Materials, Components, Equipment by the Ministry of SMEs.He invented a new optimization algorithm called Quantum-inspired Evolutionary Algorithm(QEA) in 2000, and proposed the concept of an Internet-based personal robot for the first time in 1998.Specialties: additive manufacturing, 3D printing, optimization, algorithm, artificial intelligence, robot, smartphone UX, HCI, tangible UI, sociable UI, digital TV UX, organizational creativity, concept building, technology intelligence
