As the Director of Advising Technologies I supervised one full-time staff member and one student employee. I was responsible for investigating new student-facing technologies and consulting with my supervisor on the implementation impact of new applications to advising community. I presented at multiple campus, state-wide, and national conferences on topics related to advising technology and navigating generational differences. I collaborated with systems and applications developers to test, troubleshoot, upgrade, and customize the vendor database and server and also provided statistical reports and data analysis for departments and other divisional entities. In July 2017, I was asked to join the Client Advisory Board for CollegeSource, a leader in higher education technology.

As the Assistant Director of Advising Technologies I learned the "behind the scenes" processing of a software program I was accustomed to using as an end-user. After two months of in-depth training and four months of on-the-job training, I developed training documentation for our campus community, responded to requests for assistance, and fixed both simple and complex system errors. I worked closely with the campus academic advising community to gather their requirements and ensure their curricular policies were accurately reflected in the degree audit system. I also advised a small case load of exploring students (students who had not yet decided on a major) and served on the General Education Exceptions committee.

As an academic advisor, I used PeopleSoft to advise students on ASU degree programs, careers, academic policies, extra-curricular opportunities (study abroad, campus organizations, and leadership opportunities), and progress towards degree completion. I worked with my co-workers to recruit and train department orientation leaders, teaching assistants, and first-year seminar facilitators (32 sophomore/junior students). As the staff leader over the Psychology Advising Leaders (PALs) program, I developed instructional materials and taught three sections of department first-year seminar course and two sections of leadership development course each fall, and consistently received outstanding feedback for my workshops and courses. As an associate director of operations I, planned and executed special events for more than 150 students, coordinated engagement activities such as comedy shows, art galleries, and diversity awareness events, and secured local vendors and donations from campus partners for campus events.
