Khiusha holds a Master's degree in Architecture Urbanism and Climate Action from University College Dublin, where she received the Irish Government's Fellowship Award - Africa 2021/2022.Khiusha Uaila is passionate about Green Infrastructure and Nature-Based Solutions and has a creative and entrepreneurial mindset. She is the Founder of Xi Bassile, a startup that focuses on Sustainable Drainage Systems and other nature-based solutions for urban infrastructure. She developed a low-cost, innovative bioswale that tackles stormwater and waste management and that is Xi Bassile’s current flagship solution.She is also Co-Founder and Vice-President of the Direction Board at Associação dos Amigos do Bambu - ASSAMBA, a non-profit organization that promotes the use of bamboo as a sustainable and versatile resource for environmental conservation, construction, and many more commercial and industrial uses.With over 10 years of combined experience in market practices and scientific research, Khiusha has developed and coordinated a wide range of architectural projects, from healthcare to residential, commercial, educational and institutional buildings, always aiming to provide dedicated and thoughtful services and to deliver buildings that are functional, well inserted in their context and aesthetically pleasing.
