I did a six-week internship at Meezan Bank, Shaheed-e-Millat branch from 12th June 2023 till 27th July2023. During the initial days of my internship, l was briefed on the specifics of Islamic Banking and how it differs from Conventional banking. I also learned that floor management is a task that Meezan Bank stresses upon heavily to ensure the best standard of customer service, which it has accomplished, as evidenced by the awards received in 2018 and 2020 for 'Best Bank' and an award in 2022 for 'Best Consumer Bank'. I was given the responsibility to manage the branch floor everyday which involved welcoming customers into the branch, giving them a token for their required service, and guiding them through any problems or answering any queries that they had. Aside from acquiring specific knowledge about Islamic banking, working at Meezan Bank taught me a lot about the professional work environment, and how the management style of the leader affects morale of the workers. The manager of this particular branch is a person that I admire deeply, simply due his humbleness and how he maintains a good rapport with all his subordinates, whether it is the Operation Manager or the tea boy. His soft management style is what keeps the branch running smoothly and makes it one of the best branches in Karachi. The experience I had at this internship is invaluable and what I learned during those six weeks will help me a lot in succeeding in my career.
