As head of Marketing, Communications and Brand development for the now-iconicKarachi café, I was tasked with giving the brand a voice and persona that would generate brand loyalty beyond the food and service. The result was a brand that spoke to consumers and fans directly because of its insightful messages, topical themes, and local and relatable humor. It became a viral sensation.The campaign’s topical themes have gone on to be internationally recognized on pop culture websites and news publications like Buzzfeed, Huffington Post, Times of India, and Gulf News, to name a few.

As the regional director, I focused on building our client base while also providing clients with customized social media strategies. Our client portfolio ranged from fashion brands to Non-Profit organizations, allowing us to explore a wide range of social media interventions. As a lead strategist, I was able to employ my previous experience in advertising and communication and give each brand its own unique execution.

My role was to design and execute consumer interventions that would let them experience brands beyond conventional advertising like television commercials and signage. We brought brands to life physically for consumers to engage with them and be educated by our brand ambassadors in an approachable and interactive way. This allowed an experiential way to be introduced to a new brand or a new way to look at an older brand.

Interflow was my first job as a fresh graduate. In my 6yrs there I was taught the foundations of advertising beyond the academics I had just learned. This was real-life learning, through trial and error and client rejections. As a new recruit, I was empowered and enabled to work on leading brands, have a voice in their representation and conceptualize campaigns that would go on to win awards. This stye of working allowed my creativity to flourish, my presentation skills to be fine-tuned and my managerial skills to be honed into what would lead me to be a Creative Lead at future work places.
