Fall 2024 Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Academic Fellowship

Khoa has joined SPE Group for studying about Process Engineering and Equipment design, bioenergy, biochar, and simulation. Associate Professor Le Thi Kim Phung is Head of SPE Group.

Key responsibilities:• Completed over 60 hours of seminars and group discussions related to sustainable development and Vietnam's energy landscape• Met and connected with over 200 youth leaders from across all 63 provinces of Vietnam to exchange perspectives• Participated in field trips to 6 green building projects and 2 electric vehicle startups in Ho Chi Minh City to see sustainability in action• Delivered a 15-minute group presentation at the conclusion on our proposed youth-led initiatives to raise awareness and drive adoption of solar energy in rural communities.

Khoa has spent the majority of his time researching aerogel materials, carbon-based materials, graphene-based materials, photocatalysis, and hydrogen production in the laboratory. Associate Professor Nguyen Huu Hieu is Head of the Key CEPP Laboratory.

Khoa had conducted a research about water penetration pavement from phosphorus slag. Associate Professor Le Minh Vien is a Head of the HCMUT Inorganic Chemistry Lab.

Khoa has contributed to studies on seashell paper and bacterial fibers application in food technology. Associate Professor Nguyen Dinh Quan is a Head of Biomass Lab.

Khoa had acquired an understanding of biochar formed from biomass. To create a sustainable agriculture that satisfies food needs and standards for chemical residues, plant protection products, and human health. Doctor Nguyen Huu Hoang is Head of the RCHAA Laboratory.
