Position Summary:Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for order management, documentation, compliance, process improvement and service levels with all Import & Export requirements. Essential Job Functions:Continually optimize the processes around managing Import / Export order management from entry to payment including potential pricing bid design, review and reporting with Logistics Management.Determining whether carriers or third-party provider assessorial request are justified with specific approval / rejection. Approve invoices as necessary for those sent outside of TMS or within other Shared services requirements.Accountable for cost management and some rate negotiation in addition to securing the proper agreements and documentation necessary for department guidelines.Forecast and control transportation spend with annual improvements each year.Develop strategy and identify optimal cost/service/quality for import / export requirements in addition to other facilities within the network. Evaluate and develop plans to raise service metrics and lead regular carrier reviews.Facilitate and determine ideal solutions for Silgan stakeholder requirements by production facility or third party vendor.Participate and contribute in regular department meetings, goals, objectives, forecasting and Budgeting process.Interact with chosen TMS solutions partner on a regular basis.All other duties as assigned.Proficient in TMS platforms, US DOT regulations, Warehouse Management Systems, LTL pricing.Possess a high level of critical thinking while completing tasks in fast paced environment.
