I am a clinician, researcher and multi-hyphenate artist from Kansas City, Kansas. I am a graduate of Kansas City Kansas Community College with an associates in Applied Science and a graduate of The University of Missouri-Kansas City with a bachelors in Liberal Arts and a minor in Family Studies. I am currently a Ph.D. student in the clinical psychology program at Washington University in St. Louis. As an artist and educator I am most fulfilled when doing work that I enjoy, that also serves others.Working as a professional actress and musician, my work fuses the worlds of theatre, film and music production, in hopes of giving back to my community and telling stories that inspire people to think critically and engage with others more compassionately. My research questions center around the contextual factors that promote or prevent artists’ well-being, with a specific focus on the challenges Black artists face in an anti-Black society. I am also interested in the intersection of art and wellness, and ways to integrate art-based wellness practices in marginalized communities. In the last 10 years I have had the privilege of producing some amazing content that includes being the founder and Editor-in-Chief of print and digital publication, Khorage Magazine, executive producing and operating as radio personality of "Go DJ", a hip hop show that airs on NPR affiliate station "90.9 The Bridge", creative directing visuals and film and Co-founding Tribe University, an organization that teaches underserved youth how to use their voice through the art of improv and theatre.Creative thought and execution are my strong points. With a cohesive and kind team of people, every idea can be brought to life!
