The Shad Leaders program is an opportunity for a group of university-aged Shad alums to grow their leadership skills through the collaborative creation of problem-solving STEAM workshops for grade 6-8 and high-school students. The program uses two-way mentorship to stay inspired by industry leaders while introducing others to the exciting world of STEAM.

• Analyzed Preventative Maintenance frequencies on components to identify areas to extend, creating a plan to minimize 200 hours of labour costs per year over a number of maintenance crews• Collaborate with other engineers & maintenance during station walkdowns to discuss risks and check system conditions• Utilized PI Proccessbook to extract live monitoring data into Excel and evaluate threshold trends, increasing accessibility while highlighting areas of interest during outage lead in/out monitoring• Maintained a track of engineering requests, commitments, asset management items, and value items like component health reports, presented weekly to the team through section meetings• Incorporated a safety-first mindset by continuously training on CANDU plant systems, chemistry, and procedures

After Co-Founding an after school math club at my local high school, I also started tutoring elementary and younger high school kids in my town.

Elected to represent the diverse perspectives of the student body. I was in charge of our social media presence, running meetings, and contacting the school staff.

SHAD is a summer enrichment program that allows high school students to explore the disciplines in STEAM and gave me the opportunity to meet passionate individuals from around the country.
