Leading a primary healthcare NGO of 23 medical and administrative staff in rural Hazaribagh and Ramgarh, Jharkhand, India - Responsible for operations, strategy and donor relations- Streamlining data processes: working with our data management team Medimojo to create a dashboard of our patients, symptoms and repeat users, moving towards a patient file system- Capacity building of staff: training the team of nurses and technicians to use the data management software - Managed donations worth Rs 65 lakhs and oversaw the treatment of ~34,000 patients

- Collected and analyzed development-related data from the constituency through liaison with constituency district officials- Created a system of direct communication with over 60 district officials- Made a database of baselines to measure future impact- Social media messaging and outreachThis process revealed the problem of data discrepancies at the ground level and was a point of discussion at a meeting of the Cabinet Ministers. This concern was acknowledged by the Prime Minister as well.

- Prepared briefs relating to various policy issues related to agriculture, economic and administrative reforms- Study of draft bills and judgements pertaining to pressing social issues such as the draft bill on lynching, and judgements on triple-talaq, privacy and data protection- Worked on Parliamentary interventions such as questions, zero hours and Private Member Bills- Prepared research notes and briefs for various editorials published in the Times of India and various other publications and news shows- Worked on the consultation and promotion process of the Data (Privacy and Protection) Bill, 2017

Women's Web is the largest contributor led women's media platform established in 2010. It has had 6 million readers since its inception. During this internship, I explored different topics from a feminist perspective. Although I mainly covered current events, I also had the opportunity to write about campaigns started by women like the Pinjara Tod movement and the Labhoppers. This internship also involved tasks like taking a small scale survey about sex education, interviewing women entrepreneurs etc along with writing. I also had a self-made comic strip published on the website.

My two month internship at this think tank involved mainly research and writing. Different economic, social and political themes such as prostitution, freedom of the press and the probems facing north east were taken up along with analyzing the current trends. Pertinent laws and governmental policies in place were also examined for their effectiveness for the same. Further, encouragement was also given to suggest ideas for interventions on a local scale.

During this internship I had the opportunity to witness the impact of global corporate movements on the financial markets first hand. I gained a lot of knowledge with respect to dematerialization, rematerialization; right from the documents required for these processes to how to deal with special cases that might present themselves. Similarly, I was taught a lot about the broking and trading aspects, the gold and silver schemes, fixed deposits, e-Stamping, the NPS and mutual funds. I was a given a basic theoretical overview about how the derivative market functions.I also learnt the back office operations that are conducted for opening demat/trading accounts, KYC documentation, trades etc. I was fortunate enough to attend a mutual fund workshop, sit for mock trading on the terminal and witness the launch of three new IPOs during the month which added to my knowledge.
