The Higher Education Assembly of Research in Tuscaloosa does hereby dedicate itself to the enhancement of the research experience for African American students and other minority students at the University of Alabama and Stillman College. As Secretary, I keep record of all organization meetings and meeting minutes and send out emails following meetings with important information that was discussed. As well as maintain an email list of full and affiliate members for the organization. I also maintain an events calendar that includes all meetings and events and create RSVP lists for professional development and social events.

Maintain data pipelines by employing database engineering principles to extract data from disparate sources (files, databases, APIs, external platforms), transform using Pandas, and load to a data warehouse using SQL.Designing, streamlining, and documenting software applications and scripts in Python and PowerShell.Conduct research and data analysis for special projects and create training resources for stakeholders, both internal and external.

In this role, alongside many other intelligent and inspiring first-generation college students, I will assist in organizing and manufacturing many events that will help other first-generation students in their journey through college. I facilitate event setup and support logistics for events like monthly community dinners and professional development workshops with first generation college students, faculty, and staffI also conduct regular assessments and evaluations to identify opportunities for organizational growth and maximize impact, then executing strategic initiatives accordingly.

I pioneered the inaugural Instagram page, establishing a compelling online presence for the organizationby consistently engaging an audience of 480-500 accounts. I also led a team of 3 individuals in strategic planning, content development, and engagement efforts, elevating the visibility and impact of Legacy Scholars at UA.
