Designed and led 3 project proposals a year to perform on-ground, non-profit volunteer projects in India to support young girls and mothers in poverty (e.g. training in technological skills, menstrual cycle care). Examples include projects to decrease labor for women in Uttarakhand, or creating educational opportunities through technology to increase WISTEM demographics for young girls in rural India.

Meet with local congressional offices and lobby for legislation that improves conditions for those living on less than $1 per day. Other aspects of my role include mobilizing people to contact congressional leaders in support of timely poverty reduction legislation, managing and implementing fundraising campaigns, networking and writing grants for The Borgen Project, and serving as their ambassador for Chicago.
