About Kiana White

My goal is to pursue a career in Human Resource Management. I want to make an impact on people’s lives. Whether it be hiring someone for a job or creating goals for a big corporation, I am determined to bring change in college and in life. I want to be that change and leave a legacy for generations to come. And one day when a person sees me I want them to say “that is the woman that helped change my life.” I have always been a person of determination, discipline, and diligence. As the oldest of my siblings, I have always had the pressure of excelling in school, but I used that pressure to push through cultural, social, and political barriers.

  • University Of New Haven
Justice, Equity Diversity And Inclusion (Jedi) Student Ambassador
University Of New Haven Feb 2022 - Oct 2022
    West Haven, Connecticut, United States
As a new Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) ambassador, I hope to develop new diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives within the Pompea College of Business. In this role, I want to use my role to amplify the voices of people including students, faculty, and staff who do not feel as if they have a voice. For this upcoming March, which is Women History Month, I am working to establish a Women Empowerment Speaker Series that would bring awareness of women's struggles in the workforce, and methods and ways women can combat them. I hope to bring to light an open conversation and dialogue in which faculty and students can have an open dialogue about the barriers and thresholds that are put in place for women of all races, gender, and sexuality. I hope to collaborate with the PCoB Women in Business Club, DEI Subcommittee, and possibly the Entrepreneurship club. Furthermore, some other initiatives I hope to achieve in the Pompea College of Business are roundtable conversations, a UNH Business School Blog which will allow business students a platform to bring about change. Although still somewhat a novice to my JEDI Student Ambassador I know I am not alone because I am surrounded and supported by a community of change agents willing to step out and stand out for what is right.
