I am a Physical Scientist in the Canadian Meteorological Centre (CMC) at Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC). I am based at the Numerical Terrestrial Environment Prediction Section (CMDET), where I am the lead developer of the operational suites of the Canadian Precipitation Analysis (CaPA) data assimilation system (deterministic: RDPA (regional) & HRDPA (hi-res) / ensemble: HREPA (hi-res)).Formerly, between June 2020 and May 2023, I was a Research Scientist in the ECCC’s Science and Technology Branch where I was based in the Climate Data and Analysis section at Climate Research Division. There, I pursued a study focused on the development of spatial modelling and data fusion platforms for application in trend analysis of climate data.Before joining ECCC, I did my fellowship at Centre Eau Terre Environnement (ETE) at Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique (INRS) between January 2019 and June 2020. During my fellowship, I was involved in various projects under different roles. In my last role there, I was involved in a flood inundation mapping project, led by the MRC de Vaudreuil-Soulange, QC as our client. This position came after a research associate position at YukonU Research Centre, Yukon University, where I investigated the required meteorological network density in major watersheds in the Yukon. Prior to that, as an associate for Hatch Ltd as our client, I made a thorough investigation of probable maximum precipitation and snow accumulation projections under future climate scenarios in Newfoundland.Before joining INRS, I had a sessional lecturer appointment at the University of Manitoba (UofM) in 2018, where I gave lectures on topics related to Civil Engineering Systems (Operations Research). Going further back, I did a postdoctoral internship at Manitoba (MB) Hydro through a Mitacs grant from June 2017 to January 2018. At MB Hydro, I developed automated multi-criteria parallel processing optimization and calibration systems for hydrological modelling.I obtained my doctoral degree from the UofM, where I studied the impact of meteorological network density in data-scarce watersheds on assimilated precipitation products for application in hydrological modelling. During my program at UofM, my subjects of research were meteorological network design, assimilation systems, stochastic weather generators, and spatial modelling platforms.I am registered at PEO as a professional engineer.
