Hip Hop Dance Instructor & Content CreatorI have taught Hip Hop dance at both iDance Vancouver locations for almost three years. I currently do freelance content creation, and I film and produce class and workshop videos to highlight the many styles and instructors.My goal through filming, producing, and delivering videos is to sustain and grow the iDance community where everyone can feel welcomed, appreciated, and accepted within and outside the studio spaces.

I edited three promotional videos for the third annual Conference on Communication Ethics, hosted by the School of Communication and Culture. I worked with RRU's marketing specialist and media services team to put together interviews and assemble clips and content for the promotional videos. I wrote interview questions, planned the storylines, storyboarded my vision, and executed the post-production process for the videos. The videos appeared on RRU's social media channels to promote the conference in 2023. I gained new skills as a video editor and demonstrated professional teamwork, effort, and work ethic.There were some technological setbacks, so we had to think of an alternative way to produce the videos with quality content. Before the marketing specialist conducted in-person interviews with the Media Services team, I also directed and shared my vision of how I'd like the videos to look. This included the backdrop, camera angles, and lighting. After interviewing and filming seven to nine professors and speakers, my job was to gather the video files and edit the clips into the three promotional videos. Having good judgment, an eye for detail, and visual acumen skills while multitasking with school and independently working have helped me succeed in my practicum. In the end, I knew what hard work was like, and it showed through the final results. The successful promotion of the videos resulted in a 30% increase in virtual conference registrants. The number of people who attended was almost 1,200 compared to the last conference of 900.

I assisted with day-to-day operational support, including uploading data into Zoho and organizing voice-over script files in Google Drive. I supported ongoing business development, such as organizing the website and social media channels and improving school operations systems. I have also assisted with content creation projects and produced and edited demo reels and 'instructor spotlights' for the On The Mic Training website.In result, the instructor reel reached approximately 1,000 views on On The Mic Training's YouTube channel.
