I am an Informatics and Education Leader. I have a passion for improving health care delivery for patients and their caregivers by leading teams through transformative change. I have over 10 years of experience in the Healthcare field. Since 2013, I have been working with electronic health record operations and implementations including the first Canadian Epic Full-Suite Implementation at Mackenzie Health. Formerly, I worked as a nurse in a variety of acute care inpatient and outpatient settings. This experience allows me to understand, design and build technology surrounding the core values of patient centered care. My focus has been working with stakeholders to ensure the build of the electronic health solution fits their strategic vision coupled with training programs that successfully prepare end users to optimize the functionality of the EMR into their daily workflows. My strength is to redefine workflows with LEAN ideology while in ensuring end users are optimally prepared which ultimately eases the change management for smooth transitions into operations. I have had the opportunity to manage teams, through major milestones such as hospital wide implementations and upgrades. In these opportunities I found my natural leadership ability provides me with the opportunity to create trusting relationships, acting as a coach, teacher and mentor in order to help support positive results in a positive collaborative environment across a multi-functional team.
