Throughout my time at FoundOcean I worked in the North Sea on the SSCV Thialf and Italy aboard the ASV Pioneer, where I have gained in-depth knowledge of what it requires to work in the offshore industry, and as part of a team to complete projects in an efficient and safe manner. My main duties included,•Lab Technician – I was required to test the grout before it was pumped to insure it was of the correct density. Nothing was allowed to be pumped before I gave go ahead. •At certain percentages I took samples and made moulds to be crushed at desired times specified by the client and recorded the results to insure the mix was at the required standard. These results were then entered into excel document.•Grout Monitor Technician – My task was to attach a gamma probe to a R.O.V which was lowered into the ocean and used to record results. •Once result were recorded on the laptop I presented them to the client and then sent them on to the project engineer in charge of the project. •Other Duties Included – Silo Transfers, Operating high powered washer, general maintenance of lab equipment, striping and maintenance of grout pump mixer and painting containers and equipment.
