Expert Bookseller
Current- Providing outstanding customer service in a predominantly service-based role- Displaying various forms of commercialism, initiative and flexibility by obtaining book, brand and industry knowledge concomitant with visual merchandising standards- Undertaking a duty manager role and the responsibilities this entails including opening/closing the store, forming daily briefs/rotas, as well as overseeing the successful running of the store- Operating an extensive leadership role to lead by example in all areas within the remit of the role, including commitment and self-development as well as , crucially, people leadership- Demonstrating a comprehensive, expert understanding of purpose, processes, procedures and the requirements of self and others- Designated as the Accounts Bookseller for the region which oversees the implementation of the Accounts Sales programme - Responsibility and accountability over section ownership and the duty to train new members of staff in integral operations ranging from the basic to the more advanced- Ability to make independent decisions which will best benefit the store and help increase sales- Increased cash handling responsibilities including access to safe, float checks and advanced training in cashing up procedures- Demonstrating an ability to confidently and successfully hand-sell on a consistent basis- Directly working with managers to help benefit the store and improve best practice procedures as well as sales
