Set Design Protocol Includes:- Reading script to conceptualize design ideas- Visualizing the scene and the perfect layout for best portayal - Pre-designing the layout and discussing designs with the producer- Buying new or used household items at many different locations- Creating and building set materials from a hardware store- Simple set additives like adding Water or steam to an existing locationWardrobe Design Protocol Includes:- Reading over the script to retrieve info on each playing character- Individually visualizing the full character. I met both of the Co-Founders of TheXrossOverGroup, Inc at a Yacht Fundraiser I was promoting. Very soon after I started working as a Personal Assistant for one of the Co-Owners, Jeff Fong. He had just acquired a large inheritance from his father. I organized the account distribution of all assets for best credit retrieval. The first step was to acquire a 4500 sqft warehouse that was going to house their newest business venture, The Jet Lounge X. A Mercedes Sprinter Limo that was being converted into the most technological stand up party limo that anyone had ever seen. I was asked to design the bar layout of the limo and was later featured in "Inc Magazine". A definite highlight of my designing career. Next, Fong's father's Mansion Estate in Los Feliz needed to be emptied, designed and sold. His father was a famous film director, but later in his life became a chronic memorabilia "Collector". There were items packed to the ceilings in each bedroom. I hired two young female assistants to help with the distribution. We emptied the estate in one week. We found the original 007 Scripts, the camera that filmed "Gone with the Wind", thousands of nude photographs of famous actresses, thousands of high designer suits, etc. Once the 4500 sqft warehouse was acquired it was time to start painting my blank canvas. The best feeling at the beginning of any design project. Originally only needed to house the Jet Lounge X's, also became a movie studio. The following steps went as follows:1. Measure each opposing wall and enter the measurements into my AutoCad Program2. Access the items available from emptying the estate3. Design the full potential layout of the entrance lounge, vanity lounge, offices, and studio4. Run the full design and estimated cost by both of the owners5. Days of yard sales, thrift stores, and material pick up.6. A whole month of refurbishing and contract work 7. Finite! It was the best design job I had thus far.
