Lead the City’s Sustainability and Resilience Division

Manage projects and initiatives in the City’s Division of Sustainability and Resilience, focusedon building social, ecological, economic, and physical resilience to city-wide shocks andstresses. Develop plans and analyses such as the ONEPGH Preliminary Resilience Assessment,Resilience Strategy, Equity Indicators Report, Investment Prospectus, etc.

Focused on community and facilities sustainability, including watershed management, bike/ped, water and energy efficiency, transportation planning, local economic development and sustainable food systems. Perform relevant analyses, project planning, community outreach and grant writing. Responsible for GPS data collection and GIS mapping and analysis.

Created a database of stormwater outfalls and researched ordinance updates for The Township's MS4 program. Initiated a Bike/Ped Committee to improve bike-/walk-ability and increase awareness of alternative transportation options. Researched and wrote environmentally-focused grants.

· Recruited and facilitated a field school of forty 14-19 year old female volunteers, unable to attend school, in a civic engagement project in their village, as part of Oxfam's Restoring Coastal Livelihoods program. The girls will compost and create a fruit and vegetable garden for revenue to bring a teacher to the village. Taught and researched education options for the girls. · Assisted and observed other field schools in non-timber forest products, bamboo, mangrove restoration, home gardening, and fish ponds. Studied bamboo and mangrove forestry and ecology. · Led a team on a Participatory Rural Appraisal of the upper watershed areas that feed into the lowland villages where the Mangrove Action Project conducts livelihoods field schools. · Facilitated an organic farming field school in a shelter for Mount Merapi Volcano victims, adapting methods to grow produce and catfish with limited space and volcanic ash covering the soil. · Photographer for events and classes, used for Oxfam publications and materials.

· Created and taught seventh grade Healthy Cooking and Gardening classes as part of the New Mexico Integrated Services in Schools Initiative. · Attended conferences and workshops focused on the integration of out of school time, social services, and health care into the most troubled schools in New Mexico. Transferred the information into my own program. · Responsible for purchasing and budgeting all food and supplies for the after school program of 100 students. Organized and promoted family and community events, organizing students in the preparation of meals for 100-350 people at each event. · Served with the program manager in recruiting students, organizing programs, and creating publications such as newsletters, cookbooks and fliers. · Integrated Language Arts into the science curriculum; created and taught a series of environmental awareness and recycling programs.

· Tutored and mentored pregnant and parenting teenagers in High School Completion, adults in Adult Basic Education, and an English Language Learner class for migrant farmers. · Coordinated and staffed a drop-in teen center for local teenagers and after school programs. · Recruited and supervised 40 student volunteers in a Civic Engagement Program; students devised their own service project based on needs they identified within their community. · Facilitated groups of seven to fifteen participants of all ages in experiential education and team building. · Reconstructed and maintained the challenge course.
