I served in the Royal Navy for 15 years as an Aircraft Engineer (Avionics) working on the Merlin AW101 Aircraft. After leaving the Navy in 2012 as a Petty Officer (POAET), I worked as an Avionics Instructor for Serco Defence at RNAS Culdrose in the UK. In recent years, I have gained a Foundation Degree in Aeronautical Engineering (Avionics), a BTEC Level 5 Diploma in Management & Leadership and also 2 management qualifications from the Chartered Management Institute. I am also very proud of achieving APMP Certification and becoming a Prince 2 Practioner in Project Management. On-leaving the Royal Navy, and migrating to a Australia, I held two senior management positions within civilian Airlines in WA.I have since switched career path and pursued a dream to become a paramedic. Volunteering with St John Ambulance WA whilst studying I also worked full time for St John Ambulance WA as a AEMD a role that can be very challenging and also extremely rewarding, I achieved my goal and became an AHPRA Registered Paramedic having employment with National Patient Transport and now with Safety Direct Solutions as a member of their Critical Care Transport team working at Joondalup Hospital ED, and also operating as a sole paramedic in the the remote Kimberly regions responding to emergency 000 calls. My new role is a truly unique role as it requires me to, not only, transport critically ill patients, but also work alongside other health professionals within the Joondalup Health Campus Emergency Department. We assess patients in every area of the Emergency Department from the wait-room through to the main department, perform full workups on patients alongside ED Consultants & Nurse Practitioners. A bonus for patients and the ED department with this role is our response time for priority 1 patients is less than a minute as we are already in the department.
