I worked at HMP/YOI Hindley as both an OSG with the Works Department for a year and then predominantly as a Main Stores Supervisor for 9 years. HMP Hindley was a Young Offenders Institute in the time I was employed there, working to rehabilitate those who were housed there, helping them to gain qualifications to enable them to move their lives away from one of crime. My job here was one of high responsibility and required a high level of trust and respect Key Responsibilities:• Ordering of goods to replenish stocks, as well as daily stock taking to ensure all stock held within the Main Stores is accounted for and accessible• Ensuring all items received into the establishment are checked and accounted for, as well as being suitable for use within a prison environment• The supervision of a party of Young Offenders within the Main Stores as orderlies, ensuring they worked in a safe & secure area• PAT testing all electrical equipment, new & used that comes into the establishment and ensuring they are in safe working order• Working within a team of 5 staff covering 2 departments, ensuring that we work as a group with good communication & understanding• Dealing with a wide range of people from various locations & backgrounds• Ensuring that my presentation & behaviour is kept to a high standard as expected by a job within the Ministry of Justice as part of the Prison Service, and wider Civil Service

I worked at RS Autos part-time for several years, it was a job I undertook whilst studying at college. I worked as a Sales & General Assistant, working on the reparation of vehicles, as well as the sales of automobile parts & accessories to the general public. Whilst at college I gained employment at my local Blockbuster video rental store. This job required team-work & co-operation, as well as a good understanding & trust of each other to ensure that the job was done smoothly and to a high standard as expected from such a large, International company.
