Worked with Graduate Student to sort insects from Costa Rica to make an insect collection for their thesis as well as future projects.

Designed and implemented new trailhead signs across the district. Worked in coordination with the Gallatin Valley Land Trust’s Trail Ambassador Program to engage 630 members of the public on trail issues and etiquette. Taught fire education to 350 members of the public with Smokey Bear at local festivals and events. Restored and improved 6 cabins for increased use and enjoyment.

Collected moth wing length data for a graduate student’s thesis. Conducted habitat surveys at Mammoth Cave National Park for graduate student’s thesis. Identified insect specimens to create an Insect Collection for use as a teaching tool. Inventoried and packed the Ecology Lab for move to another building.

Instructed and lead work crews on daily tasks to be completed on publicly owned bird habitat. Documented work sites on completion of job. Tasks included: planting of native vegetation, removal of Russian Olive trees on Waterfowl Production Areas, creating wildlife corridors through fencing removal, and noxious weed removal. Conducted 7 brood count surveys on the Waterfowl Production Areas. Collected and distributed bio-control agents across the complex.

Completed a comprehensive check of a customer’s home or building for animal damage. Discussed with the customer their options and recommended a course of action. Set and baited non-lethal or lethal traps and disposed of animals. Repaired building damage after all animals were excluded. Animals trapped or handled includes: Raccoons, Squirrels, Opossums, Pigeons, Rats, Groundhogs, and Snakes.
