Hello! I'm Kierra Smith, a 3rd-year Computer Science Engineering student at The Ohio State University with a minor Japanese language. I’m passionate about technology and culture, balancing academics, extracurriculars, and personal growth.In high school, I maintained Honor Roll status, received the Little Rock Nine Award for promoting diversity, and earned the Scholar-Athlete Award. Graduating with a 4.0 GPA, I continued to excel in college, making the Dean's List in my freshman year.Leadership is central to my journey. I served as Vice President of my high school class, and in college, I’m involved with the Undergraduate Society of Black Leaders, mentor for the National Society of Black Engineers, and member of Color Stack. I’ve also held key roles in Zuvaa and the Black Queer Coalition and am currently the Treasurer for Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated.At The Ohio State University, I've further cultivated my interests and leadership skills as the President of Zuvaa, an Afro-Caribbean dance team. Dancing is my artistic outlet, allowing me to express myself and connect with diverse cultures through rhythm and movement. My passion for cultures extends beyond dance, as I'm also exploring a possible Japanese minor.Balancing work, school, and extracurriculars is challenging but fulfilling.
