“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” - Nelson Mandela Since I was a young one in kindergarten, I have always wanted to be a teacher for young children. Throughout my life, I held on to this passion, craving to help children progress as well as wanting to envelop children in truly happy moments that they will cherish and remember for their whole lives. I have been a preschool teacher for over eight years. During these eight years, my love for educating has only grown. I create opportunities for children to grow and learn from. I use multiple techniques to scaffold a child’s learning and develop confidence. I encourage children to reach their potential by giving them assistance when they need it and guiding them the rest of the way. I sharpen my educational tools by continuing my education while I work. I strive for progress in my children as well as myself. I maintain my licenses in First Aid, CPR, AED Training, and Blood Pathogen Training. In addition to this, I use a Hi-scope curriculum in conjunction with ECERS and the Pryamid Model. My strengths include helping children develop positive self-esteem, independence, and improving social skills. I often incorporate many fun activities and projects that draw the children in. I am able to establish deep relationships with my students and create an environment of success for the children. I use my limited knowledge of Spanish, ASL, and various languages to benefit my children with English as a second language. I take time to get to know my students, their families, and their cultures and language. I will adapt my learning for the students and integrate their language into the classroom; whether it be by labeling or learning a few key words.
