Project And Construction Manager - Administration Department
Performs professional work in development and coordination of a variety of capital improvement and initiatives for Town buildings and property and other complex administrative projects. Duties include coordinating and monitoring projects to ensure proper construction, preparing specifications, reviewing project designs. Position also designs and performs special studies, surveys, and research and program assignments for Town management.Coordinates internal resources and third parties / vendors for the execution of projects. Ensures projects are delivered on-time, within scope and budget. Develops project scopes and objectives, ensuring technical feasibility. Ensures resource availability, allocation, and develops a detailed project plan to track progress. Verifies changes in project scope, schedule, and costs. Oversees and directs construction projects from conception to completion. Reviews the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs. Administers all onsite / offsite constructions and monitors compliance with building and safety regulations. Coordinates and directs construction workers and subcontractors. Some specific examples are, attending meetings with the client and other design professionals. Coordination of work with other design disciplines. Maintaining and establishing project schedules and goals. Obtain permits from local and state reviewing agencies; i.e. NC Department of Transportation, NC Department of Environmental Quality, etc.Another aspect to those duties is providing cost estimates at the preliminary design phase and the construction document phase. Also, responding to RFI’s (Request for Information) from contractors, preparing addendum documents, record drawings and review change orders to ensure compliance with specifications.
Civil Designer/ Cad Coordinator (Water Resources)
Civil Designer: Primary duties consisted of, but not limited to drafting and design of gravity sewer mains, force mains and water mains for the Water Resources Group. Some specific examples are, generating plan and profiles of utilities and design calculations. Duties also included drafting and assist in the design of pump stations, wetwells and elevated water tanks.Another aspect to those duties consisted of site visits to determine approximate locations of new utilities. Specifically, note/measure locations of existing utilities and structures to determine what structures are to be relocated or abandoned to facilitate the construction of a new utility such as water, gravity sewer and force mains. Cad Coordinator:Primary duties consisted of, but were not limited to management and training of the Water Resources Autocad personnel. Responsibilities also included participating in and attending project management meetings to assist with AutoCAD personnel work schedules.
