Olga C Nin MD, MBA candidate ‘25Anesthesiologist, Acute Pain, Ambulatory Medical Director, and Assistant Chair. My passion is to take care of patients during their vulnerable times. There is an artistry and precision to the field of anesthesia. Compassion and trust are vital to the patient-doctor relationship. These are the qualities I strive to showcase at my job every day. I am a true UF Anesthesia Gator, as I did my residency and fellowship in Acute Pain at UF. I joined the faculty as an assistant professor due to the potential for continuous growth and the inclusive family work environment. In my last year of anesthesia training, I was honored to serve as the chief resident. I learned how the department worked and the efforts required to shape the next generation of anesthesiologists. My desire for leadership started to grow. I was honored to receive the best faculty chairman's award during my first year as faculty. My work ethic and dedication led me to be appointed medical director of the Florida Surgical Center (FSC), our UF ambulatory surgical center, three years later. Ambulatory Anesthesia became my niche, and I knew it was where healthcare would continue to develop. In 7 years, I helped develop a second ambulatory center, the first 23-hour extended day facility in Florida, then a third ambulatory center, and an expansion to FSC of 8 operating rooms set to open in 2024. My goal is for UF to be Florida's premier ambulatory surgical center. My career has also allowed me to serve in the UF anesthesia department as the assistant chair for clinical services. I manage clinical operations and anesthesia providers in all OR locations. In addition, I provide advocacy for over 80 clinical faculty, 90 residents, 20 fellows, 30 CAAs, 40 CRNAs, and 3 APPs. I feel fortunate to have had such incredible opportunities and have great mentors.
