Office Of Navigation Services

Coordinate with STEM professors to create a universal STEM tutoring guide to help tutors feel confident in assisting freshman students in core Biology, Chemistry, and Neuroscience classes. Mentor over 40 first-year students on academic skills such as time management, effective studying, and note-taking habits, test-taking strategies, and general organization.

Complete all Resident Assistant duties, while additionally co-supervising a staff of seven Resident Assistants. Create the monthly duty schedules using microsoft Excel. Assist in facilitating weekly staff meetings to ensure the the needs of all residents and Resident Assistants are met. Foster a supportive atmosphere for all Resident Assistants through biweekly individual meetings, and oversaw celebrating both off and on campus partners and offices.

Department Of Healthcare Administration

Collaborate with Dr. Danielle Waldron, a healthcare administration professor, to investigate discrepancies in the utilization of healthcare services, in individuals with Intellectual Developmental Disorders (IDD’s). Create background literature reviews and data requests on loneliness, aging, and health services utilization within the IDD community.

Foster an inclusive and welcoming community for 34 first-year residents through monthly programs, floor meetings and touch base meetings. Work with other Resident Assistants to address residential and building concerns through effective solutions.

Encouraged student understanding of Biology, Psychology, Data Analytics, and Computer Science topics in both small group and individual settings for over 40 students. Created and implemented creative review strategies to help students understand concepts such as IUPAC naming, Cellular Respiration, and Neuron Firing.

Collaborate with Dr. Nicole Cyr, a neuroscience and biology professor, to investigate the role of stress in the activation of the dopamine production pathway. Develop laboratory skills such as cell culturing, splitting, and freezing of Neuro2A cells, sonication, loading and running Bradford assays, and sterile technique.Evaluate similar published research articles to further background understanding of stress and dopamine.

Assist students and faculty with utilizing and locating library resources to enhance overall academic experience.

Care Center For Autism Research

Worked on project SPROUT, which uses play-based behavioral intervention therapy (JASPER) to increase spontaneous speech utterances in nonverbal and minimally verbal children with autism spectrum disorder. I utilized ELAN software to isolate speech utterances of participants during JASPER sessions for over 25 videos, recorded JASPER sessions for further analysis and created promotional flyers for project SPROUT as well.
