Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist
CurrentSpecial Programs Division——Program Director for the Blindness and Visual Services and Deaf and Hard of Hearing Summer Academy Programs. Responsibilities include: 1. Student and Parent Interaction: - Provides direct disability and mental health counseling to students. - Maintains regular communication with parents to address concerns and provide updates on student progress.2. Curriculum Development: - Collaborates with educational experts to develop and implement a curriculum tailored to the needs of students with blindness, visual impairments, deafness, and hearing impairments. - Ensures the curriculum is inclusive, engaging, and meets educational standards.3. Staff Management: - Assists in the hiring and supervising of a diverse team, including nursing staff, 20 resident assistants, and educational contractors. - Provides training and supports to staff to ensure they are equipped to meet the needs of the students.4. Program Administration: - Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Summer Academy Programs. - Assists in the development and managing of the program budget, ensuring efficient use of resources. - Ensures compliance with relevant regulations and policies.5. Program Development: - Continuously assesses and improves program quality. - Implements feedback from students, parents, and staff to enhance program effectiveness.
