During this period, I covered for the CAA Foundation department from July through September (3 months). From October through January, I floated for various desks in the Motion Pictures, TV and Speakers departments.

Along with some script coverage, I aided in the creation of lookbooks and pitch decks.As coordinator I trained other interns on writing and submitting coverage. Each week I coordinated intern/producer meetings and the other interns' assignments. Further, I implemented new systems of organization for managing coverage submissions and their completion. I learned to utilize websites such as Handshake to assist in recruiting new applicants. And, subsequently, conducted preliminary interviews with potential spring internship candidates.

During my time as an intern, I analyzed scripts, films, reels, comics, and novels; then, evaluated the material and whether or not it would be a fit for the company or a specific project. I also structured concise pitches of projects I had been assigned to cover. Which I would then present to producer during weekly meetings.

A short film I wrote, directed, produced, and edited during my time at Emerson. (My BA Capstone project, similar to a thesis film). For this project, I scouted locations, organized equipment transportation, created cast and crew notices, cast actors, interviewed potential crew members, developed the shot-list, shooting schedule, and call sheets, held multiple rehearsals, and managed the project's budget. During the class that coincided with the project, I had to pitch my project various times through different stages of production. I also gave feedback to classmates throughout the stages of their projects.

During this time, I edited and operated the camera for a few live in-studio concert sessions. I also filmed and edited a promo video for private live concerts. However, the video was never released as the events were canceled (due to Covid-19).

I produced and filmed a series of short educational videos for the Chesterfield Police Department, intended to educate young children on different forms of safety. For instance, what to do in the event of a fire, or how to be safe around water.

As a production assistant/intern I switched between acting as a first-team and set PA. Throughout the production, I took actors to and from the set, maintained and established lockups, and performed whatever other tasks were asked of me. During my days on set, I also had the chance to converse with various other crew members about their positions and the production itself.

Wildwood, Missouri, Us

About two days a week, I would come into the office and file paper work (such as bank statements, invoices, etc). While working here I also gained experience creating spreadsheets and working with Microsoft Office.

In this role, I tallied results of various demographic surveys, administered tickets at festival events, and assisted with basic festival preparation tasks. I also had the chance to Interview those working at Cinema STL. Through these conversations, I learned about the submission and selection processes for the festival.
