I managed a global team spanning Warsaw to LA through the launch of 0x's V2 API. Under my leadership my team shipped 100% of its projects on or ahead of schedule. I guided senior engineers and the larger engineering organization through a restructuring of our on-call process and fixed critical issues in the hiring process.

I joined Tracer as the company was pivoting from "scrappy startup" to "a real company." In my role as Senior Engineering Manager, I coached developers and other managers on effective use of the agile process, techniques for working with legacy code, testing, SOLID principles, and various soft skills. Under my leadership my team has consistently hit deadlines, delivered standard-setting quality, and served as an example of continuous improvement as a development methodology. I also helped Tracer revise its technical hiring process and pushed the company to invest in employee development and successfully launched a technical book-club and development skills workshop.

I managed three software development teams working on diffuse feature areas of a blockchain-backed social media application. In this capacity I acted as a people manager, career planner, software development coach, and solutions architect. I directed my teams in the modernization of Voice’s build process, moving the company towards a CI/CD process.

I came into Block.One to help turn an organization with dozens of "free range" developers into software development teams. By teaching accountability, reputation management, and professionalism I enabled Block.one to deliver on its ambitious ship date for a prototype social media application built atop the EOSIO blockchain.

I managed the company's software development team while serving as lead architect for products built under a cooperative agreement with the United States Department of Energy. Under my direction FoxGuard built a software development team around the software craftsmanship movement with a heavy use of SOLID principles, and a strong adherence to agile/scrum methodology. This team continuously delivered high performance, high availability tools which allowed FoxGuard to create a universal cybersecurity patch delivery pipeline which protects vast swaths of US critical infrastructure.

At VirPack, I managed a small software development team built around modular software design, testability, and code quality. These methodologies allowed my team to release more frequent updates, leverage more testing automation, and extend our application into a service-based architecture. I also initiated programs to improve VirPack's software training and employee development including a monthly code clinic and outreach to the local technology groups.

I wrote and maintained a column on Newsvine under the handle "Killfile." The column focused on political and world news though it also served to cover local events such as the the Virginia Tech shootings on April 16, 2007 and the William Morva Manhunt in August of 2006.

BearingPoint's contract with the US Army called for custom web development for military and intelligence clients in ColdFusion and Fusebox with an MS-SQL backend. I also took on additional duties on my project including requirements gathering, technology recommendations, and technical writing. This position required a secret clearance.

At Fingertip Marketing I was part of the team that built “Cingo,” one of the largest PHP/Fusebox applications ever developed. Cingo utilized PHP and the Fusebox framework with a MySQL Database backend. I was involved in every aspect of Cingo's design, architecture, and development.

While at Echostar I provided customer service to thousands of individuals shattering company goals for speed, quality, and sales. I also assisted with the training of my co-workers and worked closely with my supervisors to improve group performance.

The University of Virginia hired me as a Student Computer Adviser my first year at the University. I worked as "live in" tech support for approximately 240 students. I also organized and administered training sessions in networking technologies, making these concepts easily access able to laypersons and professionals alike.
