Ramp Coordinator
I took on my current position as a Ramp Coordinator in March 2023 during a period of great change within Ryanair.My role primarily is in Operational Support which entails coordinating aircraft towing /pushbacks, cargo handling, company mail, escort driving, executive pickups, learjetmovements, potable water, lavatory servicing and aircraft deicing amongst others.I was at the forefront of change in Dublin and led the formation of OPS Support as its firstRamp Coordinator.

In my role as an Operations Officer, I was responsible for the safe, timely and efficient handlingof our private/business aviation customers' aircraft.In my role I worked on a variety of aircraft ranging from DA42’s to Global 7500’s as well as theoccasional BBJ and ACJ aircraft. I also worked on several helicopters including the AS365 andEC155.As a General Aviation handler there are several roles that you have to fulfil. Load Supervisor
In my role as a Load Supervisor, I was responsible for all aspects of aircraft loading primarily on the Boeing 767-300 aircraft operated by UPS routed CGN - DUB - SNN - DUB - CGN.In my time with UPS, I was certified in Weight and Balance on a number of aircraft including the B767-300, -300BCF -200. I was also certified to act as “Cargo Compartment Designee” on the B747, A300 & MD-11.My role involved overseeing all aspects of flight planning from cargo buildup to dispatching the flight on the ground. I was responsible for overseeing the buildup of cargo by our third party vendors in Dublin, ensuring proper dangerous good segregation and correct securing methods for the cargo. I was also responsible for jumpseat authorization, aircraft weight and balance, aircraft loading and aircraft refuelling.I internally trained as a Dry Ice Auditor for the loading of pharmaceuticals in Dublin and as a Safety Management Specialist.Throughout my employment with UPS, I made a conscious effort to make health and safety a priority on the ramp by providing safety tips to drivers, ground handlers and vendors. I put a strong emphasis on ramp awareness and was involved in the investigation of ramp accidents from time to time.
Cargo Agent
In my role as a Cargo Warehouse Agent with Swissport based in Cargo Terminal 2, Dublin Airport I was responsible for the loading and unloading of Air Cargo, preparing, and palletizing cargo as required and ensuring the correct cargo documentation was received on inbound cargo and prepared for departure on outbound aircraft.• My role involved loading and unloading cargo into Unit Load Devices (ULD’s) of various types for several different airlines including Turkish Airlines, United Airlines, TAP Air Portugal, China Southern and UPS amongst others.• Part of the role also involved the acceptance of cargo into our bonded warehouse at Dublin Airport from Known Cargo consignees and Unknown Cargo consignees. There were strict processes in place for those from Known and Unknown consignees that were strictly adhered to. This sometimes-involved cargo being subjected to security checks including X-Ray and ETD (Explosive Trace Detection).• During my time with Swissport Cargo, I was certified as a counterbalance forklift and reach truck driver. I qualified to drive counterbalance forklift ranging from 2-Tonne to the highest capacity Swissport had in Dublin 12-Tonne. With this license I became responsible for the unloading and loading of inbound and outbound trailers and customer vehicles.• Throughout my time with Swissport Cargo, I was responsible for running cargo from our bonded warehouse landside to the aircraft that were airside. This required additional training in the creation of Consignment Security Declarations (CSD’s). I was responsible for the sealing of ULD’s and the cargo getting to the aircraft in time for an on-time departure from Dublin.• I was awarded Employee of the Month in June 2021 for my contributions to Health & Safety in the workplace for ensuring a clean work environment was kept in the warehouse and for making several points on improving the safety of forklift operation in the warehouse.
Ground Handling Agent
In my role as a Ground Handling Agent with Swissport in Dublin Airport, I was involved in the loading and unloading of aircraft cargo and passenger baggage, marshalling aircraft onto stand and the operation of various ground service equipment related to the turnaround of aircraft.• In this role I was given the opportunity to develop my teamworking, communication, interpersonal skills as well as my ability to lead a team of agents to efficiently turnaround an aircraft.• In my time on the ramp, I began training as a pushback driver, pushing back aircraft from their designated stand onto the taxiway so that they could safely depart in line with their slot times. I also trained as a headset operator, communicating with the crew during the load process and during the critical process of releasing an aircraft for take-off. I was signed off to operate FEGPU's, GPU’s, Belt Loaders, Lower-Deck Loaders & Electric and Manual Passenger Stairs.• When I returned to work for Swissport in Cargo Terminal 2, I regularly worked on the ramp throughout the COVID-19 pandemic when staff levels were low.
Night Shift Clerk
In my role as “Night Shift Clerk” at Applegreen Service Station in Navan, County Meath, I was responsible for the management of the store between the hours of 11pm and 7am for five days a week. This was a permanent full-time position that I returned to work in during my COVID-19 layoff period from Swissport Ramp Services.• In this role I was responsible for the authorization of fuel pumping, alarm monitoring, stocktaking, acceptance of deliveries, invoicing, food management as well as the general sale of products through the hatch and over the counter.• I was able to develop my teamworking skills whilst I worked the odd daytime shift in the store as well as my communication skills.

In my role as “Sales Assistant” at Applegreen Service Station in Ashbourne, I operated the tills serving customers, where I was at the forefront of customer service in the store.
