Commissioned Officer, United States Army, Air CavalryUnited States Department Of Defense 2001 - 2006VariousAs a commissioned officer in the US Air Cavalry, Lieutenant Lattin directed and piloted U.S. Department of Defense assets: aircraft, equipment, and personnel, without incident. Excellent safety and personnel records. Qualified in multiple aircraft, including the AH-64 Apache attack helicopter. Lattin joined the U.S. Army as an SMP Cadet in the wake of the September 11 attacks, and began service as an E-5, Sergeant, Non-Commissioned Officer. He subsequently earned a full commission as an Aviation Officer from his university’s ROTC program in 2002. During his time as a pilot in the US Army, Lieutenant Lattin earned the prestigious, "Soldier's Medal," for Valor--ranked equal to and greater than the Distinguished Flying Cross, in the Order of Merit. Lieutenant Lattin was injured twice in service to his country. Once, while saving the life of another person (see Soldier's Medal). And again with a service-connected injury (non combat related). Mr. Lattin was Honorably discharged in 2006. He led or assisted at the cavalry troop/platoon and company levels. Official Officer Evaluation Reports reflect that Kilma S. Lattin, MBA, met or exceeded military standards while serving. Lieutenant Lattin was at the top-of-his-class (ranked #1 on the Order of Merit list) for Phase 1 of Flight School, February, 2003, Fort Rucker, Alabama.
