As Publisher at Manchester University Press, I led the publishing strategy and list development for the Trade programme. Working with a network of literary agents and authors, I commissioned and published a range of non-fiction titles in current affairs, politics, history, economics, music, and pop culture. I'm the former Owner and Editorial Director of Zed Books, an intelligent non-fiction press publishing between 40-50 books per year. I have over 18 years of experience in the publishing industry, working with talented authors and teams to discover fresh and captivating authors who challenge the status quo and spark important conversations.I am also a trustee at The Charleston Trust, a charity that preserves and promotes the historic home and garden of the Bloomsbury Group and hosts the prestigious Charleston Literature Festival.
