The Healthcare Foundation connects people and resources to promote wellness in underserved communities, with a belief that every person – regardless of ethnicity, income, immigration status, gender, sexual orientation or health status – deserves the same opportunity to live a healthy life. By listening to the community and partnering with donors, other funders and nonprofits, we worked together to identify issues and create solutions to provide equitable access to culturally sensitive healthcare and mental health services, and promote overall community wellness. The Healthcare Foundation's bold vision is to eliminate health inequities in northern Sonoma County.

GLIDE has worked for over five decades to create a radically inclusive, just and loving community mobilized to alleviate suffering and break the cycles of poverty and marginalization. In this position, I was responsible for ensuring that individuals, foundations and corporations were inspired by GLIDE’s mission and vision, and were actively engaged in funding the advancement of its goals. I was responsible for leading the GLIDE Fund Development and Communications team of 16 in identifying, engaging, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding donors to deepen their involvement and financial support of GLIDE’s work. I collaborated with the Founders, the President & CEO, the Board of Trustees, and other key staff and volunteers to raise approximately $13M per year towards the organization's $23M annual budget.

The mission of BAMPFA is to inspire the imagination and ignite critical dialogue through art and film. As the Major Gifts Manager, my role was to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors and participate in short and long range strategic planning to ensure that institutional goals were met. While at BAM/PFA, I designed and launched the Curator’s Circle, a program involving more than a dozen special events per year, including receptions for artists and filmmakers, gallery and collector’s home visits, chats with local and visiting artists, and a trip to Berlin with BAM/PFA curators and members to the Berlin Biennale in June of 2014. In addition, in my role as project manager of the annual gala and auction in May 2014, BAM/PFA’s largest fundraising event of the year that raised over $500,000 for art education, successfully launched the museum’s first online art auction.

As original board president from 2005 through 2011, and as chair of governance and nominating committee and co-chair of development committee, led this small, award-winning SF theater company that specializes in new, experimental works and revisioned classics, from formation as a 501 (c)3 to the development of a long term strategic plan, significant board expansion, and growth of the annual budget from $25K to $500K.

Oversaw the Development & Marketing department to achieve BAVC’s mission: to inspire socialchange through art, education and technology. Worked closely with department directors insupport of BAVC’s nationally renowned programs: free youth media education programs;workshops for seasoned social justice documentary filmmakers including MediaMaker Fellowsand Producers Institute for New Media Technologies; SF Commons - San Francisco’s publicaccess TV station; video and audio preservation; and hundreds of workforce developmentcourses in technology. Responsible for all government, foundation, individual and corporategiving programs that raised over half of the organization’s $5 million annual budget; alsoresponsible for all marketing including the highly trafficked BAVC.org, monthly eNews toapproximately 13,000 subscribers, all social media, membership and public events programs.

Managed the development team responsible for initiating and stewarding all relationships withindividual major donors and members, local and national foundations and government agenciesto support an arts organization that grew from a $2.3 million annual budget to approximately $6million in five years. SFFilm presents the San Francisco International Film Festival,Filmmaker 360 - one of the largest filmmaker support initiatives in the country, and an extensiveyouth education program. Working closely with the board and executive team, including Directors of Education, Programming and Filmmaker360, successfully negotiated numerous strategic initiatives supported by contributed revenue. Notably, helped craft and launch the partnership with the Kenneth Rainin Foundation to provide, through Filmmaker360, unparalleled education, assistance and opportunities including grants, prizes, development assistance, and residencies to working filmmakers at all stages of their careers.

Developed and maintained strategies for contributed revenue from individuals and institutions,working closely with corporate sponsorship and membership associates to support theinstitute’s three program areas: 1) Mill Valley Film Festival; 2) Christopher B. Smith Rafael FilmCenter; 3) CFI Education: developed new initiatives in support of student and filmmakereducation programs throughout the Bay Area.
