Hamilton General Hospital site

Primary role is to provide clinical review services for patients and medication orders, and drug information support to client hospitals, either in partnership with or in the absence of on-site staff. Additional consulting services provided to client sites on request related to compliance with Ontario College of Pharmacists standards, automation system selection and implementation, and optimizing workflows and staffing requirements.

Responsible for the day to day operations, human resource requirements drug utilization and department budget for the Hamilton General Pharmacy. Direct supervision of 35 pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in this role, and joint supervision of an additional 21 pharmacists and technicians in a program management model. Participated in Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and Joint Health and Safety Committee while in this role.

Responsible to ensure stable operations and monitor budgeting impacts for the Juravinski Hospital Pharmacy.

Responsible to coordinate and communicate education initiatives for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians at HHS, and to collaborate with and support my partner clinical educators for medication-related education for nursing, physician and other health discipline staff at HHS.
