The foundation owns the loyalty club ‘Biografklub Danmark’ (Cinemaclub Denmark) where +200k paying subscribers gets access to tickets for a curated selection of films at a discounted price in all Danish cinemas. Proceeds are awarded as grants by the foundation to support projects that can further promote the cinematic experience to the wider public.

I took over as CEO at a time, where the company had a huge deficit and an uncertain future. I developed CinemaxX into being the 2nd largest cinema chain in Denmark, with 1.8 Mio. guests annually being welcomed by 300 highly skilled and motivated employees. The portfolio now includes the highest attended cinema in Denmark, the two very first IMAX screens in the country, and a co-ownership of the e-ticket and media platform kino.dk A/S. It has since 2012 been a part of VUE Entertainment International - one of the world’s leading cinema operators - ultimately owned by Private Equity companies.

Kino.dk is the leading ticket provider and digital film media in Denmark, servicing the customers of 51 cinemas throughout the country with a web ticket platform and app. The site is in top 20 of the most visited media in Denmark, and has a high qualitative editorial content often quoted by other media. Content is delivered via web, digital magazines and podcasts. Revenue streams are generated from ticket fees, advertising sales and commercial partnerships.

‘Danske Biografer’ represents the interest of the 170 cinemas in Denmark. From small local cinemas, arthouse cinemas, singe-screen owner/managed sites to the largest circuits and multiplex operators. Danske Biografer works with politicians and Government as well as other sectors of the film industry to promote the value of cinema to the wider public.

Nykredit is the leading mortgage institutes in Denmark. By the time of my employment Nykredit did not yet offer traditional bank or insurance products to their private clients. My task was to establish the D2C unit 'Nykredit Direkte' as a new distribution channel, a telemarketing unit, and the production center for these new product groups. I created a unit with 270 employees that provided services to Nykredit’s +600,000 existing customers and acquired an additional 55,000 new customers within the new product areas. The unit received an international award for ‘Outstanding service over the telephone’.

Den Fri Bank was one of the first branch-less banks in Denmark and the very first bank to introduce direct banking for private customers. I was initially asked to provide a marketing and brand strategy in the concept development phase but was eventually given the lead in taking the concept to market. We took 25% of the direct banking market and were acquired by the mortgage institution Nykredit, to form a beachhead into the private banking sector.

Forstædernes Bank was a middle-sized full-service bank in the greater Copenhagen area.As Marketing Manager I was responsible for strategy, tactics and the execution of the corporate market communication, including PR. I also participated in product development for private clients and created a communication concept for the local branches. The customer base grew from 35k to 50k private clients and the company was nominated for a ‘Corporate Image Award’ and an award from the Danish Public Relations Association.
