About Kim Chapman

After years in the medical billing field, life brought me to the other side of the coin, and I started my career in health insurance. I was hired on as a temporary employee to assist with 4th quarter volumes, at the end of the contract I was offered a permanent position with Oxford. 6 months later an opportunity arose to learn a new product and platform within UHC, after much thought and consideration I decided to apply and was hired. For 2 years I was a top performer on the Northeast Installation team. I became the dedicated install representative for the Mid Atlantic Healthplan General Agents. While working these groups I formed a connection with the leadership in that market. When I reached a fork in the road with life and my career, I reached out to her and was told she had a position on her team as a Sales Operations Specialist (SOS), but it would require a move to MD. Another time I had to think and consider my next move. I decided to go for it and quickly began preparations for a job and life move. When I arrived in MD, I quickly picked up on the SOS role and job function. During my first review just 6 months after my move, my manager sited me as “at the very top of the SOS Team”. A few years into my life as an SOS, the Virtual Operations team was formed. This is a national team that supports markets on a regional basis, instead of locally. With this change, I was given the chance to work with additional markets in the Northeast region. I was promoted to supervisor 2 years after the transition. After 1.5 yrs. I was promoted again to manager and given the national ACR quoting team. This has given me exposure to markets across the country. With this also came a production team in India. Managing across cultures and continents has been a great learning experience for me.Outside of work I am a proud dog mom to an English Bulldog. I enjoy any time near the ocean listening to the waves. I am also a huge music fan. I listen to all genres, but in recent years spend most of my time listening to country.
