Accurately collects, analyzes and records demographic, insurance/financial, and clinical data from multiple sources, and obtains other information and signatures necessary for accurate patient scheduling, registration and billing.Performs the pre~registration, registration, and scheduling process in accordance with State, Federal, hospital and departmental policies, procedures and regulations.Effectively screens for compliance with payor requirements for medical necessity and determines when it is appropriate to solicit and document additional substantiating diagnosis, signs or symptoms to support medical necessity. Performs pre~certification to ensure accurate payment is secured.Serves as the patient's first point of contact and interacts in a customer~focused and compassionate manner. Ensures that patients' needs are met.
